What is a telescope? And what can it be used?

Who has never posed an eye on these optical instruments generally pay installed on tourist sites and to observe landscapes and monuments? This is called a telescope , sometimes called spotting .

A telescope is an optical instrument monocular appeared between the sixteenth and the seventeenth century. It was initially used by sailors and naturalists. The telescope is a monocular optical instrument characterized by:

Its diameter . You are aware that a large diameter lens will capture more light than small-diameter lens. A fortiori, a large diameter lens will provide a much brighter picture 😉 But beware, a model of telescope large diameter lens will be heavier and bulkier model than smaller diameter lens;

its rapprochement factor or magnification. The reconciliation factor is always designated by a multiplier (eg, 20x, 30x, 50x, etc.). For information, this factor plus the greater the vision of a remote object observed will close.
